Simple Pasta Recipes

Two simple pasta recipes that are easy to prepare. Enjoy the combination of either meat or fish with pasta. Both of these recipes are great holiday dishes that will be enjoyed by everyone.

Linguine with Meat Marinara Sauce:

Overview:

  • Preparation time: 25-30 minutes
  • Total time to cook: 25-30 minutes
  • Level of Difficulty: Easy
  • Serving Size: 5-6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb. of ground beef
  • 1 lb. of linguine, cooked and drained
  • 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of diced onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon of oregano
  • (2) 28 oz. whole plum tomatoes, crushed and de-cored
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 5-6 fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Directions:

  • Preheat olive oil in a saucepan.
  • Add onions & garlic to the saucepan and cook until golden brown.
  • Add ground beef to the saucepan and cook until done (deep brown in color).
  • Add plum tomatoes, oregano and 2-3 basil leaves to the saucepan. Simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  • Place cooked linguini in a serving dish and add 1/2 of sauce (mix evenly).
  • Spoon remaining sauce over the pasta and place 2-3 basil leaves on top.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Linguine with Clam Sauce:

Overview:

  • Preparation time: 20 minutes
  • Total time to cook: 20 minutes
  • Level of Difficulty: Easy
  • Serving Size: 5-6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of linguine, cooked and drained
  • 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon of diced fresh parsley
  • (1) 16 oz. can of minced clams
  • (1) 16 oz. can of progresso white clam sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • optional: 2-3 fresh basil leaves

Cooking Directions:

  • Preheat olive oil in a saucepan.
  • Add garlic and cook until golden brown.
  • Add parsley, minced clams, and white clam sauce into saucepan.
  • Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Place cooked linguine into a serving dish and add 1/2 of sauce (mix evenly).
  • Spoon remaining sauce over pasta and place 2-3 basil leaves on top.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Tip:

You may use little neck clams on half shell for garnish and added flavor.
